Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT), Pune is an engineering college established in 1983 by Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad. It is among the first engineering college in the private sector in Maharashtra. It is affiliated to the University of Pune. The basic purpose of the institute is to transform young and enthusiastic students into a professionally competent engineer capable of accepting the challenges of the industry.

It is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The Outlook magazine has ranked MIT Pune as 1st in Maharashtra and 11th in India amongst Private Engineering Colleges.

The institute is spread across 17 acre of campus. The campus includes facilities of canteen, branches of the Sangli Bank and the Bank of India, an auditorium, medical dispensaries and a medication temple. The campus have state-of-the-art facilities with a friendly study environment, campuses are well – equipped with very good infrastructure.
