Engineering

Engineering is a very important field of study in all man made artifacts or products. It’s a blend of technology, appealing design, technological solutions and ideas that affect every area of our lives. Engineers design, manufacture and maintain everything that is used by people and industries, from computers, spacecraft and boats to corkscrews, buildings and chemical reactions. Advancement in technology is impossible without Engineers. It is the application of arithmetic and science to solve problems. A student can make a bright career, if he or she opts for this field because of having vast scope. There are various entrance exams through which aspirants can pursue BE/ B. TECH/ ME / M. TECH course in top engineering colleges.

Bachelor of Technology also abbreviated as B.Tech is an undergraduate degree awarded after completion of 4 years of academic program. B.Tech gives more importance to application and skill base study. Engineering is Science which includes theoretical concepts and principals. On another side, technology includes more application of theories for practical purposes. In India, it is the most preferred course study among the best students. Today, B.Tech graduates are in different sectors like Information Technology, Research and Development, Networking, Telecommunication, Automobile, Textile Aeronautical and many more. Students with B.Tech degree have a huge scope and demand in India and they are also placed in top rated organization with handful packages.

Streams of Engineering

  1. Aeronautical Engineering – Aerospace Engineering originally known as Aeronautical Engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with designing aircraft, spacecraft, missiles and other airborne objects. Creating model of these designs and testing them is also a primary part of the job.

  1. Biochemical Engineering – Also known as Bio-process Engineering is a branch that mainly deals with the design and construction of the unit processes that involve biological organisms or molecules such as bioreactors. The scope of this field is in petrochemical industry, food, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and water treatment industries.

  1. Chemical Engineering–Chemical Engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the application of physical science (physics and chemistry) and life sciences (microbiology and biochemistry) together with applied mathematics and economics to produce valuable and useful forms. The graduated from this field is engaged mostly in pharmaceutical company.

  1. Automotive Engineering – Automotive engineering is a combination of mechanical, electrical and materials science. It deals with the design, development and manufacture of cars, trucks, motorcycles and other motor vehicles. Automotive engineers also design and test many subsystems or components of the vehicles.

  1. Biomedical Engineering–It is the application of engineering principles and design concepts to medicine and biology for healthcare purposes. It designs solutions to problems in biology and medicine with the goal of improving the quality and effectiveness of patient care.

  1. Civil Engineering – Civil engineering is a profession that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams and buildings.

  1. Electrical Engineering–Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. The focus of the course remains on designing and testing ICs, inductors, capacitors and resistors. The students also learn to design electronic circuits, computer systems and also develop control systems.

  1. Computer Science Engineering – It is the study of computation. It informs how we create software. It involves the design and understanding of computational process and programming languages. The students have to go through algorithms, programming languages, operating systems, database management systems, computer network, computer graphics and artificial intelligence.

  1. Mechanical Engineering – Mechanical Engineering is an engineering discipline which applies physics and material science principles to design, analyze, manufacture and maintain mechanical systems.

  1. Ocean Engineering–Ocean Engineering is a multidisciplinary field of technology applied to the ocean environment. It is a combination of the classical engineering disciplines such as civil, mechanical and electrical engineering with naval architecture and applied oceanography.

  1. Marine Engineering–Marine engineering is involved in the design, construction and maintenance of vehicles and structures used on or around water. Marine engineering technology and techniques are used to create cruise ships, oil platforms and harbors.

  2. Mining Engineering – Mining engineering is an engineering discipline that applies science and technology to the extraction of minerals from the earth. It is associated with geology, mineral processing and metallurgy, geo-technical engineering and surveying.

  3. Industrial Engineering–Industrial engineers work to eliminate waste of materials, time, money, man hours, machine time, energy and other resources that do not generate value. It is concerned with the design and operation of industrial processes.

  4. Information Technology – It concentrates on the study of utilizing computers and telecommunications in order to control, gather, store and circulate information. It plays a pivotal role in communication, inventory management, data management, management information system and customer relationship management.

  1. Electronics and Communication Engineering – It involves the transmission of information across channels such as coax cable, optical fiber, or free space. You can work on designing equipment such as routers, switches, multiplexers and electronic switching systems, copper telephone facilities and fiber optics.

Why you want to be an Engineer?
